  1. Official Section 5 'Battery' instructions: remove the rubber cover from the charging socket on the footplate side; plug the charger into the port then into the mains outlet; display shows charging status; charger light is red while charging, green when complete; unplug charger from mains first, then from the vehicle, then refit the rubber cover. Use ONLY the supplied charger or an original spare part. Do not fully discharge the battery; do not leave it dead for extended periods; let the product cool for one hour after riding before charging; never charge unsupervised; charge at least once a month even if unused; avoid full charge cycles below 10 degrees C; never charge for longer than twice the manual's stated maximum charging time. Battery is lithium-ion: do not disassemble, puncture, short-circuit, overcharge, expose to water/fire/direct sunlight/extreme heat or cold; dispose of via WEEE/battery regulations, not household waste.
