1. Official maintenance procedure: to adjust brake-cable tension, use a hex wrench on the cable-clamp bolt - slide the clamp arm backward along the cable (holding the cable) and retighten if the disc is dragging, or slide it forward and retighten if the brake is slack. To eliminate brake noise: loosen the two caliper mounting bolts (not the cable-clamp bolt), reposition the caliper so the rotor is centered between the pads, then retighten the mounting bolts.
