1. Official brake maintenance (manual p.17-19): use a hex wrench to loosen the cable-clamp bolt; if the disc brake drags, slide the clamp arm backward along the cable (holding the cable) then retighten; if the brake is slack/inefficient, slide the clamp arm forward then retighten. To eliminate brake noise: loosen the two brake-caliper mounting bolts (not the cable-clamp bolt), reposition the caliper so the rotor is centered between the pads, then retighten the mounting bolts.
