Official procedure: lock is disabled by default; to activate, power on (hold power button ~3s), then press the power button briefly 7 times within 30 seconds of power-on, enter the default code '00' (left digit via brake lever, right digit via throttle), confirm with 2 rapid presses of the power button. To change the code, unlock, press power button 7 times, enter current code, confirm, enter new code, confirm again. To disable, unlock, press power button 7 times, enter code once, then instead of a new code hold the brake lever until a beep is heard. Manual warns: disabling reverts the default code to the previously-active code, not to factory '00'. Scooter auto-powers-off and re-locks after 5 minutes of inactivity.
